The Island of Cres and Lošinj
The island of Cres is, along with Krk, the largest Croatian island. It is located in the Kvarner Gulf. The island is connected to Istria and the island of Krk via ferries, and to Lošinj via a bridge.
The island of Lošinj is likewise located in the Kvarner Gulf, and is part of Primorje–Gorski Kotar County. The most important places on the island are Mali Lošinj and Veli Lošinj. Mali Lošinj is the largest settlement on the island and the administrative centre of the western part of the Kvarner. There are a range of craftsmen and accompanying businesses on Lošinj, whose aim is round-the-year life on the island.
The Cres – Lošinj islands abound in a variety of plant and animal life, but it is interesting that the islands do not have any venomous snakes.
